In 2007 she was selected as one of the 39 most important Latin American writers under the age of 39 by the Hay Festival.

In 2010 she received La Mar de Letras Award for Coleccionistas de polvos raros. Her short stories have appeared in magazines and anthologies from Latin America, Spain, Italy, Germany, the United States of America, Philippines and China.

In 2011 she attended the International Writing Program of the University of Iowa as writer in residence and in 2012 she was a visiting writer in the International Writers Workshop of the Hong Kong Baptist University.

In 2013 she won a feature film screenplay grant of Fondo de Cinematografía for her project “Lavaperros”, written in collaboration with Antonio García Ángel.

Is an associate writer of Relata, the National Net of Creative Writing Workshops and she teaches creative writing.
