A mysterious Japanese immigrant arrives in a small, forgotten cove in the south of Chile.

Known as Mr. Tanaka, this silent resident about whom little is known, behaves oddly. Tanaka has a secret, or rather a unique skill: he can predict quite accurately small changes in weather conditions.

This leads him to make a surprising prediction, which is to affect the cove and the entire country: the imminence of the great earthquake and subsequent tsunami of February 2010.

Mr. Tanaka helps the survivors but also rescues the last of the captives in a circus, a lion who becomes a dear friend despite being a wild creature.
