The award seeks to recognize those authors who have developed with excellency a literary career in the field of books for children and young readers.
The jury chose unanimously Yolanda Reyes and highlighted “the versatility of her work that includes different voices ranging from childhood until adulthood, with a great literary quality and a personal style that has been evolving through her trajectory”
The jury also indicated that “her literature is deeply humane, since it is the mirror-reflection of her reality as it goes beyond the Colombian context and gives a voice to those who have not been heard”.
