Chronicles
Comisura, 2025 | Fotografías por Andrea Modica
184 pages

A book composed of 39 true stories accompanied with hauntingly beautiful images by the American photographer Andrea Modica.

In dialogue with literature and art, with the past and with the present, María Teresa Andruetto weaves together numerous episodes of intrahistory focused on women, but also on social groups from all over the world that are usually left out of hegemonic narratives -such as the gypsy, Quechua or Guarani cultures. You will find here sparks, lightning flashes of life of women from different cultures, known or ignored, from Papusza to Babette, from Branislava Susnik to Aché Damiana, from the Salem witches to Aida Carballo.

In a hybrid that links art and day-to-day life, fiction, information, and personal experiences, Andruetto dives into hidden episodes of minor history to glimpse what was left out of the narrative.
