In Sleepy Stories, Mario Levrero presents a series of stories in which fatigue, laziness, and sleep give rise to situations that are as absurd as they are poetic.

A man who sleeps inside his umbrella, another who falls asleep on a skateboard and ends up at the bottom of the sea, or yet another who travels asleep on countless buses without ever reaching his destination: all of them inhabit stories suspended between wakefulness and sleep.

In each story, yawns, silences, and sighs build an expressive tension that defies expected endings and expands the limits of the imagination.

Levrero reveals himself in his most genuine and carefree form.
Here, it is never entirely clear whether we are reading stories… or dreaming them.
